One of Kuypers more Escher-like paintings of chairs. Kuypers is a master of pleasing compositions and color palettes, wryly hiding the humble chair amidst masterful skill and optical illusions. -JF

About the Artist

Artist Herman Kuypers
Kuypers graduated in 1990 at the Academie voor Beeldende Vorming Tilburg in drawing and painting. Since that time he has worked on a collection dominated by chairs depicted in very different ways. Perspective is another important element in these works. These works are drawn with pencil or painted with watercolor.
