Between Light and Shadow

About the Painting

As a child, the changing seasons were a source of never-ending mystery and magic; secrets were revealed as layers of ice melted, exposing remarkable forms and intricate patterns. Objects once hidden, transformed, became visible, and then vanished in a world of boundless mystery. I’ve always loved the concept of magic; making things appear + disappear and continue to be captivated by the transformation and limitless originality found in nature. At the heart of my creative process, I am working to recreate some of the mystery, the magic of time passed and the spirit that continues. From Artist's Statment at Saatchi Art

About the Artist

Leslie Lemberg Artist
Lemberg grew up in Rye, NY on Long Island Sound. The textures of wild grasses, bark, leaves, water and the light were a strong influence early on. "Beauty for me is found in the crevices and wrinkles, the patina of experience. The marks, textures, scars in an aged surface are all evidence, a link to the journey taken."
